This beautiful little bureau appears to have been made as a little bit of a one off. Certainly it is extremely well constructed and great thought has gone into the attention to detail, including things like the choice of highly figured timbers and the lovely shaped apron which runs between the original feet.
Although slightly larger than normal miniature furniture it probably still falls into that overall category, as it is also a little small for a piece of childs furniture. We think actually it was made to stand on top of a table, or desk originally.
It retains exceptional colour and patina and the overall condition is very untouched. It has simply received a natural wax polish in our workshops by our highly skilled, trained specialist antique furniture restorers before being offered for sale.
This is a really quite collectable, rarely found item and it would prove difficult to find much similar, especially in this kind of condition, so we expect the lucky purchaser to be extremely satisfied with their purchase and we don’t expect to find anything similar particularly soon.
