A handsome Georgian mahogany table finished on all four sides, so it can be used freestanding. The table also functions as a console table with one long side having subtle turret corners in the frame to emphasize a front face. The cabriole legs feature beautiful carving on all four knees: an exuberant cartouche sprouting floral sprigs that meander onto the knee returns. Good antique condition, with some signs of age and wear. Shows signs of having been cleaned and refinished, now with a French polished and waxed finish. Probably 19th century, possibly earlier.
