Vintage French Farmhouse Console Table, 1940s

This beautiful, hand-crafted, rustic piece, is elegant, classic and modern all at once. It is made of pine, with a beautiful, rich, warm, oak-colored finish. The drawer comes with its original wood, pull knob (see photos)

It comes straight from the purple Périgord (“Périgord Pourpre”) and was used in a winery, in Monbazillac , one of the more renowned vineyards in the Dordogne region of SW France.

Piece is in overall good, original, vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, top (see photos with a 1 cent coin for perspective), edges, drawer, legs, top of pull knob and feet (see photos), none of which affect the functionality of the piece, rather, only enhance its character and charm. A couple of very old hairline marks on the top and inside of one leg (see photos). Some areas of wood worm ( tip of one leg), as can be expected for a piece of this age.

– Piece is solid and stable.
– It has been fully treated, then gently cleaned and polished with flaxseed oil, to preserve its integrity, and with respect to its original patina of time.

Great to use in an entryway, as a wall console against a large wall, living room, bedroom or bathroom. It could also be used in a smaller space or kitchenette, as a side table, small dining table or desk, in a home office or den.
