19thc oak pot board dresser
This 19thc oak pot board dresser was made circa 1800. A dresser of this size would have been made for one of the major houses in an English country estate, using the timber that had been felled. The fruitwood also would have been taken from a fallen apple tree.
The oak dresser is fitted 3 drawers along the top and 2 further drawers each side of the arch. The cabinetmaker also laid fruitwood as a feature above the arch.
You have the 4 turned legs to the front that join to the pot board, made up of multiple boards on the base.
This 19thc oak pot board dresser is larger than most and so has a presence that will make it look important in whichever setting you put it in your home.
Imagine this in an entrance hall or dining room, or drawing room, it will not only look great it will provide useful storage and display opportunities.
