This is a dressing table made in England, circa 1770. It is made of solid mahogany and is beautifully hand carved throughout with fine quality deep carving. The top has a molded edge with a great hand carved banding. There is a long drawer across the top with 3 drawers each on the right and left sides of the chest with a smaller drawer over a recessed cupboard door to the front middle. The cupboard door opens to reveal open storage with one shelf. All of the drawers and the cupboard door are also beautifully hand carved. The piece maintains its original solid brass hardware. The table sits on a set of fine traditional Georgian bracket feet. The finish and condition are very good. This is a very versatile piece of furniture that will work well as a side table, an end table, a hall table, an entry table, a lamp table, a small desk, a small chest, or as it’s intended purpose, a dressing table. It measures 36 in. wide x 23 1/2 in. deep x 32 in. tall.
