18th Century Irish George II mahogany carver, the bow shaped back rail centred with flowerhead motif flanked with scrolling acanthus leaf and moulded corners raised over pierced interlocking back splat above curved outswept arms with opposing flowerhead motif on terminals supported on curved supports. The drop in seat raised over apron with centred scallop shell carved in high relief flanked with scrolling foliate supported over moulded straight leg joined with H stretcher, circa 1750.
