A George II Mahogany Side Table, with Highly Figured “Fossil Brown” Marble Top
Of quite and humble form, with plain shaped frieze above an apron incorporating a modestly scaled central carved scallop shell, with carved acanthus cabriole leg on pad feet. The surface patina matte and ‘dry’, with a sleepy untouched quality.
With associated and highly figured, fossilised marble top, with flecks and stark white fossils and including densely compacted trilobites and ammonites.
