Lovely George III circa 1780 Double Sided Walnut Partner Desk Original Handles

A very well made late 18th century desk, I have never seen another double sided piece from this era, it is sublime, the front has nine traditional drawers, the back two cupboards, the concept was of course for two people to share the same desk, either in a legal context or for the boss and their assistant. The desk comes complete with all original handles and green leather top which has a lovely patina

We have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom, as mentioned the desk leather has normal patina, there are other various signs of used from 240+ plus years of service, everything functions as it should

I can have the desk fully restored to include the timber being all washed back and French polished, for a price ask, I have left the desk as it is because allot of collectors are looking for genuine age related patina, others are looking for fully restored

As things stand we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom

Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
