A pair of George II side chairs, each with plain overstuffed and upholstered backs and seats, the light graceful mahogany cabriole legs with carved acanthus leaf motif to the knee, swept moulded rear legs. Chippendale’s Directory illustrates several examples, described as “French upholstered chairs”.
