A tripod with animal claws grasping a ball serves as a base at the foot of the table, decorated with a small striated column and a vegetable bulb. The mechanism that allows the top to be folded is on top of this foot, and the top of the table has a round shape and profile with curves flanked by straight sections. American furniture owes a great deal to English, as the following example shows: it follows the so-called Jorge II style, named after the monarch during whose reign it was created (born in 1683 and died in 1760), and is based on models borrowed from architecture Roman of the Renaissance.
